All About Mrs Parums
Originally from Cheshire, UK, Mrs Parums passion for working with children was first realised when supporting her secondary school’s Music Department as a sixth former, by leading a Year 7 String Orchestra. Mrs Parums was inspired by the students’ talents coming to life as they played, and she believes that every student has the right for their interests and curiosity to be nurtured. After achieving her Music BMus(Hons) Degree at City University in London, Mrs Parums completed her PGCE at the University of Chester in 2013. The first three years of her teaching career were spent in the UK, before moving to the UAE in 2016. Mrs Parums has proudly called Dubai her home for almost six years and has had the valuable opportunity of gaining a wealth of leadership experience within an Outstanding British school during this time.
Within Mrs Parums ten years of teaching experience, she has taken on a wealth of leadership responsibilities, as well as achieving the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership. Mrs Parums is extremely passionate about bringing out the best in others, helping them to flourish and achieve more than they ever thought possible. When Mrs Parums is not in school, her perfect downtime is spent horse riding in the desert, cycling or playing the piano.
As Head of Primary at DGPS, Mrs Parums is very excited to bring her experience and enthusiasm to drive the school forward, developing partnerships while promoting Dove Green’s vision of ‘Learning Together, Growing Together’, and so enabling all children to reach their highest potential.
Fun Fact:
From when she was three years old, Mrs Parums attended dance classes for fifteen years, and once performed at Disneyland Paris with her dance school!
