On Wednesday, 4th June 2025, Dove Green Private School and Durham School joined hands for a meaningful and spiritually enriching Qur’an competition titled “Ya Qari Al Qur’an”. Hosted at Durham School, this interschool event brought together students from both the Primary and Secondary levels in a celebration of Qur’anic recitation, unity, and shared Islamic values.
The competition welcomed a panel of honourable judges, whose presence underscored the importance of accuracy, tajweed (pronunciation), and heartfelt delivery. Students took to the stage with remarkable confidence, reciting verses from the Holy Qur’an with passion, reverence, and excellence.
The event not only showcased the spiritual growth and memorisation skills of our young learners but also fostered a sense of brotherhood and community between the two schools. As students listened to one another’s recitations, they were reminded of the beauty and power of the Qur’an, and the strength of coming together in faith.
Events like Ya Qari Al Qur’an are more than just competitions—they are a reflection of our commitment to Islamic education, the nurturing of moral values, and the pursuit of academic and spiritual excellence.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all participants and thank Durham School for their generous hospitality. May this be the beginning of many more collaborative initiatives that strengthen our bonds through shared values and respect.
