At Dove Green Private School, we believe that strong partnerships between home and school are key to every child’s success. This week, we were delighted to welcome parents to our Read Write Inc. Parent Workshop, designed to give insight into how we teach reading and writing through our phonics programme.
The session offered parents an in-depth look at the structure of the Read Write Inc. (RWI) approach, demonstrating how phonics is used to build foundational literacy skills. From blending sounds to decoding words, our team showcased the strategies and techniques we use daily in the classroom to support children in becoming confident, fluent readers.
It was a pleasure to share our methods and to equip parents with simple, practical ways to support reading at home. Whether it’s practising sounds, reading together, or encouraging writing, parental involvement makes a significant difference in a child’s learning journey.
