All About Ms. Doherty
Ms. Doherty graduated in 2019 with a BEd Primary Education from Stranmillis University College, Belfast, Northern Ireland. Since then, Ms. Doherty has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge working in predominantly FS/KS1 as class teacher in a small Primary School in County Down, Northern Ireland. Ms. Doherty moved to Dubai in August 2022 to join the Dove Green family and is really looking forward to meeting all the wonderful pupils.
Ms. Doherty believes that the rapport she builds with her pupils creates an environment in her classroom that promotes respect for all, providing the foundations for high quality teaching and learning to take place. Ms. Doherty is totally committed to ensuring full inclusion within the learning environment. Maintaining a strong belief that education is empowering, Ms. Doherty strives to ensure that pupils develop a love of learning to gain the necessary skills to become lifelong learners. To achieve this, she has utilized technology to plan creative and stimulating practical lessons for KS1 pupils and hopes to continue to develop in this area of expertise to benefit the pupils at Dove Green. Ultimately, when you walk into Ms. Doherty’s classroom, you will witness the happy, safe and inclusive learning environment, where the Year 2 class will be welcomed and celebrated each day.
When asked what is the best thing about Dove Green, Ms. Doherty replies: the child centered approach! The Dove Green staff are committed to helping encourage and develop each child to achieve their full potential.
Fun Fact: Ms. Doherty loves to read, travel and spend time exercising outdoors.
