All About Mrs McDonnell

Mrs McDonnell has been teaching at Dove Green Private School for four years. 

Mrs McDonnell completed her degree in Early Childhood Care and Education at the Institute of Technology Blanchardstown in Ireland. She began her career working in crèches, pre-schools, and afterschool clubs across Ireland for four years, gaining valuable experience in Early Years Education. Seeking new opportunities, she then moved to Dubai, where she spent three years teaching FS2 and Year 3, developing her skills and adapting to a diverse, international learning environment. 

Committed to furthering her professional development, Mrs McDonnell earned her Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Sunderland. In 2021, she proudly joined the Dove Green family, where she continues to nurture her passion for teaching young learners. 

Mrs McDonnell has a particular interest in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), firmly believing in the power of inclusive education to help every child thrive. She is dedicated to creating a warm, engaging, and inspiring classroom where all students feel comfortable, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. 

Her teaching philosophy centres around fostering a lively and supportive learning environment that promotes curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning from an early age. 

When asked, what is the best thing about Dove Green? Miss McDonnell replies: ‘The sense of community around the school.’
