All About Mrs. Hoikkala
Mrs. Hoikkala is a committed and experienced educator from the Philippines, holding a Professional License in Teaching. She has accumulated two years of practical experience working with students of determination in her home country. Currently, she is pursuing a master’s degree in special education with a major in Behavioural Analysis, reflecting her ongoing dedication to advancing her expertise in this field. With seven years of experience in the British curriculum, she has strengthened her love and passion for fostering inclusive learning environments.
In addition to her academic pursuits, she has enhanced her qualifications by attending a training program as a Registered Behaviour Technician (RBT) in Dubai, UAE. This additional certification highlights her proactive approach to integrating evidence-based practices into her teaching.
Mrs. Hoikkala passionately believes that “Every child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of succeeding” — Robert John Meehan. Her passion for inclusive education drives her to foster an environment where all students’ unique abilities are recognized and nurtured, ensuring they all thrive and succeed.
When asked what the best thing about Dove Green is, Mrs. Hoikkala replies:
The best thing about DGPS is how much we care about every learner. The school makes sure each child is valued and supported, which matches my passion for supporting all children succeed and feel included.
Fun Fact:
Mrs. Hoikkala was brave enough to travel alone in Central Asia during summer. While there, she explored the stunning landscapes and vibrant culture, and also followed her passion for photography.
