All About Mr Rothwell

Mr Rothwell holds a degree in Mathematics with Economics from the University of Exeter. Following his graduation, he worked as a production manager for a major UK supermarket chain. After four years in the corporate sector, he pursued his passion for education and completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the University of Leeds. 

With over 15 years of teaching experience in both the UK and internationally, Mr Rothwell brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the classroom. His international teaching journey includes five years in Sharjah, UAE, and he is excited to return to the region after spending the past five years teaching in the UK.  

Throughout his career, Mr Rothwell has taken on a range of leadership roles, including Specialist Leader of Education, Head of Department, Key Stage 4 Coordinator, and Deputy Head of Secondary. He is deeply committed to ensuring that every student receives a high-quality mathematics education, recognising the importance of STEAM subjects in today’s global job market. 

Mr Rothwell is passionate about helping students achieve their full potential, both academically and personally. His goal is to ensure that every learner leaves Dove Green equipped with the skills and confidence to thrive in the opportunities that lie ahead. 

When asked, “What’s the best thing about Dove Green?” Mr Rothwell said: “I’m looking forward to joining the Dove Green family and being part of the expansion of the Secondary school.” 

Did you know? Mr Rothwell once held a Guinness World Record for the fastest time to eat a jam doughnut—without using his hands or licking his lips!
