All About Mr O’Donnell
Mr Liam O’Donnell has been teaching in the UAE since 2020.
Originally from London in the UK, Mr O’Donnell is a fully qualified Humanities teacher who holds a degree in History and Politics, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE).
Mr O’Donnell has been teaching in the UAE since 2020. Since beginning his international teaching journey, he has worked in both British and IB schools, bringing a versatile and global perspective to his classrooms. Over the course of his career, he has taught History, Geography, Politics, and Psychology across a range of secondary year groups.
In addition to his teaching roles, Mr O’Donnell has made valuable contributions to school life through sport. He has coached football teams in the DASSA leagues and actively supported students in tennis and badminton, promoting teamwork, resilience, and school spirit beyond the classroom.
He is passionate about creating a learning environment that not only challenges students intellectually but also encourages them to engage critically with the world around them. Mr O’Donnell is currently expanding his leadership expertise by completing the NPQSL (National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership), which supports his goal of driving whole-school improvement through evidence-based practice.
When asked what he enjoys most about teaching, Mr O’Donnell says: “Supporting young people in finding their voice and confidence—whether it’s through a well-argued essay or scoring the winning goal—makes every day rewarding.”
