All About Mr Kinnear
Mr Kinnear completed his BSc (Hons) in Physical Education in the UK before achieving his PGCE in Primary Education with QTS. With over ten years of experience in British curriculum schools across the UAE and the UK, he has held a variety of leadership roles, including Head of Swimming & PE, Head of Athletics, and Assistant Housemaster.
Throughout his career, Mr Kinnear has led PE departments, developed engaging curriculum pathways from EYFS to KS3, and organised a wide range of sporting events; most notably whole-school sports days, inter-school competitions, and large-scale awards evenings. While serving as Head of Swimming at Ranches Primary School, he guided the school’s first-ever BSME swimming squad to an impressive 34-medal achievement. As Athletics Coordinator for Dubai schools, he also organised and led the major athletics competitions that take place in Term Two.
A passionate and energetic educator, Mr Kinnear believes every child should experience the joy of movement and develop confidence through physical activity. He aims to help students discover sports they genuinely enjoy, encouraging them to build essential skills, develop resilience, and foster a lifelong love of health and fitness. He is dedicated to creating a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment where all students feel inspired to participate, progress, and take pride in their achievements.
When asked what he loves most about teaching PE, Mr Kinnear shares:
“Seeing students find their confidence, try something new, and discover a sport they genuinely love is the most rewarding part of my job. Helping children realise what they’re capable of is why I teach.”
