All About Mrs Sameera Khokher

Role: Year 6 Class Teacher

Started at DGPS: August 2023

Professional Background

Before beginning her career in education, Mrs Khokher worked in Human Resources, Change and Transformation at Barclays in the UK. She studied Human Resources at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where she developed a strong interest in organisational leadership, positive workplace cultures and supporting people to reach their full potential. Her corporate experience strengthened her understanding of communication, wellbeing and personal development, which later inspired her move into education.

Mrs Khokher joined Dove Green Private School in 2023 and has completed her teacher training and Postgraduate Certificate in Education. She is currently undertaking Qualified Teacher Status. She is passionate about helping children grow academically while also developing confidence, resilience and essential life skills for the future.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard and valued. When children feel safe, respected and supported, they are more confident to take risks, ask questions and grow as learners. My aim is to create a warm and positive classroom where children feel encouraged to challenge themselves, enjoy learning and take pride in their achievements.

What Children Can Expect in My Classroom

Children can expect a welcoming, inclusive and respectful classroom where every pupil has a voice. Lessons are engaging and purposeful, encouraging independence, resilience and a love of learning. Support is always available, and every child is encouraged to be the very best version of themselves.

Outside the Classroom

Outside of school, Mrs Khokher enjoys spending quality time with her family, travelling and exploring different cultures. She enjoys being outdoors, whether hiking, having picnics at the beach or hosting barbecues in the desert. She also enjoys painting and reading, and believes creativity and lifelong learning are important both inside and outside the classroom.

A Message to Families

“I am excited to work alongside you and your child throughout the year. I strongly believe that successful learning journeys are built through strong partnerships between home and school. By working together, sharing successes and supporting challenges, we can help every child grow in confidence, develop a love of learning and achieve their very best.”
