All About Miss Burgess
At Bishop Grosettesste University, Lincoln, Miss Burgess completed a degree in Primary Education (with QTS) in 2018. After graduating, she taught in Year 3 and Year 5 for 4 years. In 2022, Miss Burgess relocated to Manchester, UK, and became a Year 6 Teacher and English Curriculum Lead at an inner city school.
Miss Burgess is very passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive classroom where everyone understands it is acceptable to make mistakes in order to grow and learn. She has a deep passion and knowledge of teaching English, and is committed to improving the enjoyment of writing and reading for all children. Miss Burgess has recently completed some research into oracy and the importance of talk in the classroom to enhance learning and understanding- something which she hopes to bring to her classroom at Dove Green. Miss Burgess has just completed her NPQLL and NPQSL professional leadership qualification, which focuses on the leadership of English and becoming a senior leader in the future. She is very excited to continue developing in her leadership roles, so she can develop even further.
Outside of teaching, Miss Burgess is very focused on physical fitness and spends a lot of her time keeping herself healthy. She has recently completed Manchester Marathon, three half marathons and two Hyrox competitions- so don’t be surprised if you hear Miss Burgess talking about a run, or something she did recently in the gym! Miss Burgess hopes to inspire future generations with her dedication to fitness and the importance of keeping yourself fit and healthy.
When asked, what is the best thing about Dove Green? Miss Burgess replies: ‘I can’t wait to get started at Dove Green Private School! Everyone seems extremely welcoming and I’m ready for my next chapter as I move to Dubai.’
Did you know? Miss Burgess wanted to be a dancer growing up and spent all her free time doing productions with the dream of dancing on cruise ships around the world!
