She has particular expertise in English and Curriculum leadership and is committed to fostering a love of Reading and Writing for all children.
My Teaching Philosophy
“My ultimate goal is for every child to leave my classroom believing, “I can achieve more than I thought possible,” by nurturing curiosity, fostering a love of reading, and creating a culture where mistakes are embraced as valuable opportunities for growth and learning.
What Children Can Expect in My Classroom
- A safe and supportive environment where mistakes are valued as an important part of learning, helping everyone grow in confidence and resilience.
- A love of reading and language through engaging texts, meaningful discussions and opportunities to share ideas and opinions.
- High expectations and nurturing challenge, where curiosity is encouraged, every voice is heard, and all children are supported to achieve more than they thought possible.
Outside the Classroom
Outside of school, Miss Burgess enjoys reading, travelling and keeping active. Whether it is training for and completing half marathons, marathons and HYROX competitions, discovering new places, or spending time with family and friends, she values maintaining a healthy work-life balance and believes that determination, resilience and a growth mindset are qualities that can be developed both inside and outside the classroom.
A Message to Families
“I am looking forward to helping your child grow as a learner and as an individual. Together, we will create a supportive and inspiring environment where every child is encouraged to develop confidence, embrace challenges, celebrate their unique strengths, and become the very best version of themselves.”
