All About Olivia Jones

Professional Background
Miss Jones is entering her second year at DGPS after moving to Dubai from the United Kingdom in 2025. She brings five years of teaching experience from the UK, where she taught across Key Stage 2 and held leadership roles in Mathematics, English, PE and RE.
Miss Jones holds a Degree in International Education and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from Bath Spa University. Before joining DGPS, she worked as a Primary Maths Mastery Specialist with the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM), supporting schools to strengthen mathematics teaching, and was seconded to the role of Deputy Headteacher. Passionate about mathematics, she is committed to ensuring every child develops confidence, resilience and a deep understanding, believing that all children can achieve success with the right support and challenge.
My Teaching Philosophy
“I believe every child can be successful. My aim is to inspire confident, resilient learners who embrace challenges, think deeply and develop a love of learning. Through engaging, purposeful experiences—particularly in Mathematics—I want every child to realise that with effort, curiosity and the right support, they are capable of achieving more than they ever imagined.”
What Children Can Expect in My Classroom
Children can expect a positive and supportive learning environment where they feel safe to take risks,make mistakes and celebrate their progress. Through hands-on learning, high expectations and constructive feedback, they will be encouraged to build confidence, independence and achieve their personal best.
Outside the Classroom
Outside of school, Miss Jones enjoys staying active, playing tennis, travelling, reading and cooking. She also enjoys exploring new interests, including Formula 1, and believes curiosity and perseverance are important both inside and outside the classroom.
