Professional Background
Miss Gelidi joins DGPS with a passion for nurturing and inspiring young minds. With experience teaching across the primary years and key stages, she is dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging classroom environment where children feel valued, challenged and empowered to reach their full potential. She believes in developing confident, independent learners by fostering curiosity, resilience and a genuine love for learning. Miss Gelidi holds a BSc in Psychology, which has strengthened her understanding of child development, learning behaviours and the individual needs of young learners. She uses this knowledge to create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that supports children’s academic, social and emotional growth.
My Teaching Philosophy
“I believe children learn best when they are encouraged to think deeply, take initiative and become active participants in their own learning. My aim is to create a classroom where curiosity is nurtured, questions are valued and children are empowered to explore ideas, solve problems and make meaningful connections. By encouraging independence and critical thinking, I strive to develop confident learners who are prepared to approach challenges with creativity and resilience.”

Outside the Classroom
Outside of school, Miss Gelidi enjoys exploring her creativity and staying active through hiking, running, sewing and videography. She values spending quality time with family and friends, travelling, reading and creating meaningful experiences.
