Professional Background
Mr Chilton is new to Dubai with DGPS being his first teaching role in the UAE. Before this he had been teaching in Cambridgeshire, UK for 7 years. He has taught practical and examination PE from Year 7-13, leading the GCSE PE course in his previous school before relocating to Dubai. Alongside this he has a wealth of experience in student leadership which he brings to DGPS to support our students with personal growth both inside and outside the classroom.

Mr Chilton completed his Undergraduate Degree in Psychology (BSc) at Loughborough University, his PGCE with QTS at York St John University and the NPQLT qualification in 2023.

My Teaching Philosophy
Students are encouraged to step outside their comfort zone and try new sports and activities with confidence. Physical education is about more than skill development — it builds resilience, teamwork, communication and responsibility. Above all, I want students to enjoy movement, discover a lifelong love of sport, and grow as well-rounded individuals.

What Children Can Expect in My Classroom

  • Active lessons – students will spend the majority of time moving and engaging actively in their learning, developing skills.
  • High expectations – all students are supported to achieve their full potential, pushing themselves beyond their perceived limits.
  • Life skills – PE is more than just physical skills, it is about developing resilience, communication and teamwork. Skills students can apply to all aspects of life.

Outside the Classroom
Outside of school, Mr Chilton enjoys travelling to new countries to experience different cultures and learn about the world as well as keeping active. His goal is to complete the 6 SuperHalfs half marathon series across Europe, completing the first 2 in April 2026. He is also running the London Marathon in 2027 to raise more for Breakthrough T1D – a charity focused on finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.

A Message to Families
Together, we’re committed to supporting your child’s development. With encouragement and guidance at home and at school, we’ll help them tackle challenges head on, build resilience and learn new skills as they progress from teenagers into young adults.
