All About Mrs Murphy

Mrs Murphy has been teaching at Dove Green Private School for four years.  

Mrs. Murphy qualified as a teacher in 2014, after a career in computer training. She received her teaching degree from Edge Hill University in Ormskirk, England. Mrs Murphy has taught in many schools in England, specialising in schools with behavioral issues and high levels of Students of Determination. Over the years, she has had the pleasure of teaching children in Foundation Stage, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2. Mrs Murphy taught in England for six years before emigrating to Dubai with her husband and two young sons in September 2020. Both of her children attend Dove Green Private School and are thriving! 

During her time at DGPS, she has taught in Key Stage 1 and 2, and has enjoyed responsibilities such as, Head of English and Head of Year 4. Mrs Murphy endeavors to provide a fun, challenging and inclusive environment where the children can discover their potential. Mrs Murphy has a passion for English, Art and Inclusion and enjoys learning new ways in which to deliver these lessons. 

When asked, what is the best thing about Dove Green? Mrs Murphy replies: ‘When I first visited Dove Green, I was struck by the positivity and community spirit. I enjoy watching my children thrive in this environment. Having now taught at the school for five years, I am impressed by the resilience of the staff and students. My children and I have flourished here, enjoying and experiencing new cultures. 

Did you know? Mrs Murphy is an enormous Harry Potter fan; she has visited Harry Potter World in the UK, five times!
