My Teaching Philosophy

I am passionate about inclusion and believe every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. My aim is to create a supportive environment where children feel valued, respected, and empowered to develop academically, emotionally, and socially.

What children can expect in my classroom

We create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom where every child feels valued, secure, respected, and confident to take risks, while being supported and challenged to reach their full potential. Through a literature-rich environment, we foster a love of reading, strong communication skills, curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking across the curriculum.

Outside the classroom

Outside of the classroom, Mrs Shaw enjoys spending quality time with her family, who are at the heart of everything she does. She values creating special memories together, whether at home or while travelling and exploring new places. Mrs Shaw also enjoys keeping active through running and going to the gym and loves to relax with a good book whenever she gets the chance.

A message to families

I am delighted to be your child’s FS1 teacher and look forward to a wonderful year of learning, discovery, and growth. My aim is to create a warm, nurturing environment where every child feels happy, valued, and confident, while developing curiosity, independence, resilience, and a love of learning through play-based experiences. I look forward to working closely with you to ensure your child has a positive and successful start to school.
