All About Miss Donnelly
Professional Background
Miss Donnelly has been teaching for 10 years. She completed her Primary teaching PGCE at Leeds Beckett University in 2015 and followed this with 3 years teaching in the UK. She then moved to Dubai for the opening of The Arbor School and taught there for 5 years, followed by 3 years teaching in DGPS. In her teaching career, she has taught Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 and is keen to make learning engaging and fun for all children. Miss Donnelly is keen to create a stimulating environment where all children have an opportunity to explore and investigate in their own way to build knowledge, language, and friendships. She has experience in leading phonics and reading across FS and KS1, incorporating reading and writing throughout the curriculum.
Another of Miss Donnelly’s greatest passions is dancing and musical theatre. After dancing for many years, she now loves to share this enthusiasm with children which helps them to grow in confidence, learn something new and of course, to have fun. She is so excited to be part of the musical theatre team and has really enjoyed creating Matilda and working towards the Lion King!
My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that every child is capable of achieving amazing things in their own unique way. I want to nurture each child’s confidence, spark their curiosity, and foster a genuine love of learning. By creating a supportive and engaging environment, I aim to help children grow academically and personally, while developing the self-belief they need to reach their full potential.
What Children Can Expect in My Classroom

- Lots of opportunities for independence and curiosity, which allows children to develop their own skills, imagination and follow their passions.
- Hands on learning experiences, through play based activities, songs, games and a lot of mess!
Outside the Classroom
Outside of school, Miss Donnelly enjoys dancing, watching musical theatre shows and going on long walks with her little Maltese dog, Minnie. She also loves reading books, going to the beach and swimming.
