All About Mrs. Sohal

Mrs. Sohal has been teaching at Dove Green Private School since April 2024 and has thoroughly enjoyed teaching Year 6 and being part of the vibrant school community.

She brings with her 8 years of teaching experience in Key Stage 2, having taught in both private and public schools in the UK, as well as in the UAE for the past 2 years Her teaching journey began after completing a Law degree at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge in 2015, followed by a PGCE with an English specialism at Middlesex University in 2016.

Now living in Dubai with her husband and daughter Isla, Mrs. Sohal loves exploring her new home and creating beautiful memories. She enjoys trying different cuisines, embraces adventure, and proudly lets her inner child shine through in and out of the classroom. In the classroom, Mrs. Sohal sets high expectations while keeping learning fun, motivating, and engaging at all times. She prioritises her students’ wellbeing and enjoys getting to know each of them personally. She loves having different conversations each day and values building strong relationships with her pupils. She is passionate about creating an encouraging, safe space where every child, regardless of background or culture, feels seen, heard, and valued.

Recently, she completed a Coaching in Education course, further deepening her commitment to supporting student growth.

When asked, what are you most looking forward to at Dove Green? Mrs. Sohal replied: ‘The warm community atmosphere, which reminds me of being back in the UK even though I may be miles away from my home. The moment you walk through the front doors there is a positive vibe where students are happy and wellbeing is prioritised.

Did you know? Mrs. Sohal has dived 50m into the Indian Ocean when she travelled to Bali and walked the sea bed for a total of 20 minutes! She also worked at the 2012 London Olympics where she got to meet many Olympian athletes!
