All About Bilal Kashmiri
Role: Year 1 Class Teacher
Started at DGPS: August 2025
Professional Background
Mr. Kashmiri began his career as a teaching assistant in London, gaining two years of valuable classroom experience before completing his Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at Kingston University in 2023. He went on to successfully complete his Early Career Training (ECT) in Year 1 at an outstanding school in London. Mr. Kashmiri is truly passionate about fostering a growth mindset and independence in children, equipping them with the skills and confidence they need for their learning journeys throughout school. He is committed to creating a secure and inclusive classroom environment, where children feel excited to come to school, embrace learning and challenge themselves to deepen their knowledge and understanding of new and existing content.
My Teaching Philosophy
“I believe children learn best when they feel safe, secure and happy. By building warm relationships, consistent routines and a culture of kindness and respect, I create a classroom where every child feels valued, supported and excited to learn.”
What Children Can Expect in My Classroom
- A safe and supportive environment where mistakes are valued as an important part of learning, helping everyone grow in confidence and resilience.
- A love of reading and language through engaging texts, meaningful discussions and opportunities to share ideas and opinions.
- High expectations and nurturing challenge, where curiosity is encouraged, every voice is heard, and all children are supported to achieve more than they thought possible.
Outside the Classroom
Outside of school, Mr. Kashmiri enjoys playing card games, going to the gym and watching films. Whether it is strategising over a game, training to stay fit and active, or losing himself in a good film, he values maintaining a healthy work-life balance and believes that determination, resilience and a growth mindset are qualities that can be developed both inside and outside the classroom.
A Message to Families
“I am looking forward to helping your child grow as a learner and as an individual. Beyond academics, I care deeply about educating children to be kind, curious and mindful of the world around them. Sustainability and caring for our environment are values I love sharing with my class. I look forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and exploring together.”
