Professional Background
Kirsty Weir joins DGPS from Bradford, UK and brings 7 years of teaching experience. She has taught across KS1, Lower KS2 and SEND provision, and is passionate about creating engaging learning experiences that enable all children to thrive.
Kirsty Weir holds a degree in Law and a Primary PGCE. She has a particular expertise in working with children with additional needs as well as sports and computing.
My Teaching Philosophy
“I believe every child deserves to feel valued, challenged and supported. Being an active person who loves science and reading, I enjoy bringing energy, curiosity and creativity into the classroom. My aim is to create an environment where children feel confident to explore new ideas, embrace challenges, learn from mistakes and develop a lifelong love of learning and discovery.”
What Children Can Expect in My Classroom

- Active and engaging learning experiences that spark curiosity, especially through exploration, discussion, science investigations and a love of reading.

Outside the Classroom
Outside of school, Kirsty enjoys being outside and having fun. Whether it is water sports, playing netball, riding horse, or spending time with her family and friends, travelling, reading or keeping active, they believe in maintaining a healthy balance and bringing their passions into school life wherever possible.
