All About Mr Ahmed

Role: Head of Year 1

Started at DGPS: August 2025

Professional Background

I joined Dove Green Private School last year, bringing with me over a decade of teaching experience across both the UK and international school settings. After completing a BSc (Hons) in Policing and Law at the University of Wolverhampton, I followed my passion for education by gaining a PGCE in Primary Education from Birmingham Newman University. Since qualifying, I have taught across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, developing a strong commitment to creating inclusive, engaging, and meaningful learning experiences that inspire every child to succeed.

Prior to joining Dove Green, I spent five years at the British International School Riyadh, where I led the Teaching and Learning and played a key role in embedding evidence-informed practices and conceptual approaches to learning across the school. I am particularly passionate about Learning That Transfers and helping children develop the knowledge and skills needed to become lifelong learners.

Having completed the NPQLT (National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching), I am excited to continue growing as a leader studying my NPQSL (National Professional Qualification in Senior Leadership) while contributing to the Dove Green community. I am committed to fostering a positive, nurturing environment where children feel valued, challenged, and supported to achieve their very best, and where both students and staff can flourish.

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe every child deserves to feel valued, challenged, and inspired to learn. My goal is to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where children feel confident to take risks, ask questions, and grow as learners. Through meaningful learning experiences, high expectations, and a strong focus on wellbeing, I encourage children to become curious, resilient, and independent thinkers. Above all, I strive to foster a lifelong love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.

What Children Can Expect in My Classroom

  • A safe, nurturing environment where curiosity is encouraged and mistakes are seen as learning opportunities.
  • Engaging, hands-on learning experiences that inspire creativity, collaboration, and deep thinking.
  • High expectations, supportive relationships, and opportunities for every child to feel successful, confident, and proud of their achievements.

Outside the Classroom

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exploring the outdoors, and staying active through sport, particularly cricket. I also enjoy travelling, experiencing different cultures, and learning from the people and places I visit. These experiences enrich my perspective and help me create meaningful learning opportunities for children.

A Message to Families

I strongly believe that when families and schools work together, children achieve their very best.

My commitment is to ensure every child feels happy, safe, and supported while being challenged to reach their full potential. Communication and collaboration are incredibly important to me, and I welcome opportunities to connect with families as we work together to support your child’s learning journey.
