Mark Mc Adam is an experienced international school leader with over two decades of experience in education across the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. He currently serves as Principal of Al Rabeeh School in Abu Dhabi and brings a strong track record of strategic leadership, school improvement, and community
engagement.

Originally from Dublin, Mark began his academic journey earning a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science before completing his Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Liverpool. He went on to teach and lead in schools across Liverpool, Manchester, and London for eight years, developing extensive experience in
curriculum development, pastoral leadership, and whole-schoolimprovement initiatives.

For the past nine years, Mark has lived and worked in the UAE, holding senior leadership roles at leading British curriculum schools. He previously served as Head of School at a GEMS Education school in Dubai and as Vice Principal at Al Rabeeh Academy in Abu Dhabi before becoming Principal at Al Rabeeh School. His leadership experience spans academic excellence, operational management, staff development, and strategic planning.

Mark holds both the National Qualification for Senior Leadership (NQSL) and the National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH), underscoring his commitment to high-level educational leadership. As a BSO-accredited inspector, he has gained valuable insight into international best practices, governance standards, and school accountability frameworks. This role has strengthened his understanding of quality assurance, compliance, and continuous school improvement, all key competencies in governance.
