All About Mr Morgan Copelin

Professional Background
Mr Copelin has just joined Dove Green Private school, coming from a secondary school in the south of England. He has worked across the Design Technology specialism and is extremely passionate about the subject. Working within the UAE provides an exciting opportunity to connect Design Technology with the innovation and ambition that is so clearly visible around students every day.
Mr Copelin holds a Degree in 3D Design, Product Design from the university of Plymouth and a PGCE in Secondary Design Technology Product Design and Resistant Materials from Cardiff University. His main expertise lies with practical making, and getting students enthusiastic about making high quality projects that they can be proud of.
My Teaching Philosophy
“My philosophy as teacher is to develop confident, creative and independent problem solvers who understand that good design has the power to improve people’s lives. I believe that Design technology allows every student the ability to succeed and allows students to develop skills that stay with them long outside the classroom.”
What Children Can Expect in My Classroom

- A creative space where mistakes are encouraged and students are constantly questioning how things work, and looking for ways to better the world around them.
- A love of Design Technology runs through the classroom with projects that have been selected to challenge and excite students.
- High expectations, where a high standard of work is the norm and students work collaboratively to achieve great outcomes.
Outside the Classroom
Having just arrived in the UAE with his wife and two children Mr Copelin is looking forward to exploring this wonderful part of the world.

“ I really believe Design Technology will become a popular and valued area of the school, and I am looking forward to getting to know you and your children. I’d also love to hear from any parents who have links within the design and manufacturing industries, both here in the UAE and abroad, in the hope of creating some real-life opportunities and industry connections for our students.”
