I am very excited to be welcoming my new FS2 class this year. This will be my second year at Dovecote Primary school teaching in FS2. It has been a real joy to watch my children develop so much this year, learning through play and focused activities, building on their knowledge and skills from FS1.
I am from Wales in the UK and have lived in the UAE for three years now. I graduated from the University of Wales, Newport in 2008 with a BA Honours degree in Primary Studies. Following my degree, I taught in Wales for 8 years in a variety of different year groups. I taught in year one for 3 years, which has given me a solid understanding of where the children need to be academically and socially by the end of FS2.
As well as teaching, a passion of mine is visiting different countries and finding out about how people from other cultures live and learn. I have been lucky enough to visit lots of countries around the world and often refer to these first hand experiences when the children enquire about the world around them.
