Meet Your Teacher: Mr. Potter

I have been a qualified teacher since 2010, having studied Primary teaching at Bath Spa University in the UK. My approach to teaching is creative and “child-led” as I feel that this is the best way to promote independence amongst young people. I also try to incorporate technology into my lessons wherever possible because these are important skills to learn in an ever-changing technological world. My philosophy is that if children are enjoying their time at school, then they will be better learners!

Before moving to the UAE in 2016, I taught a variety of Key Stage 2 classes in Norfolk and Suffolk, in the East of England. In my last school in the UK, I was in charge of Physical Education, and I ran many sports- based enrichment classes after school hours. In August 2016, I began work at a British School in Abu Dhabi where I developed my respect and appreciation for UAE culture and values.

I started working at Dove Green (formerly Dovecote Green) as a Key Stage 2 teacher in August 2018 and I love it!

In my free time I try to keep myself fit and healthy, mostly through jogging and football. I am a huge Liverpool F.C fan and I try to watch as many games as possible. I am also very keen on different styles of music and I can play the drums to a good standard. Travel is my biggest passion and I have been fortunate enough to visit many countries in the world thus far.
