All About Mr. ANGUS RUSSELL
Mr. Russell was born, quite some time ago, in Somerset in the south-west of the UK.
He gained his B.Sc (Hons) from the University of Brighton in the UK, an MBA from Charles Sturt University in NSW, Australia, and his PGCE in Secondary Science from the University of Birmingham.
He has been an expatriate all his life; living, working and studying from the UK to Australia and most places in between. He, his wife and two sons have been in Dubai since 2006. His wife is a primary teacher, his eldest son has just graduated with a degree in Product Design Engineering and started his career, and his youngest started his degree in Sports Psychology in September.
His teaching philosophy is very much based around encouraging the student to accept responsibility for their own learning. This is achieved by providing them with the resources they need, then supporting and directing them to develop the skills and attitude required to create a sustainable approach to learning.
He is extremely passionate about science, not so much from a research perspective as from a pragmatic, this is all about understanding the world we live in, approach. It is about connecting information from different sources and joining the dots to find answers. This is built on the skills and knowledge acquired during a multi-faceted career ranging from scuba diving instructor to general manager to running his own business.
