All About Miss. Radburn

Miss Radburn gained her degree in Primary Education at Liverpool John Moores University in 2017. Following this, she completed her NQT year in Year 4 in an outstanding school in Liverpool, United Kingdom. In 2019, Miss. Radburn relocated to the UAE and was employed by a British school in Northern Dubai teaching in Year 6 for two years. During her time at this school, Miss Radburn worked as part of a team of teachers implementing the High-Performance Learning program throughout the school, which focused on positive learning behaviours and attributes which help to create life-long learners.

Miss Radburn joined DGPS in September 2021 as a Year 6 teacher.  With a keen interest in English, she has enjoyed teaching the Power of Reading scheme this year which has a huge focus on high-quality texts.  This scheme has had a positive impact on the Year 6 children’s vocabulary and motivation to read. Miss Radburn’s classroom provides an engaging environment, where children feel comfortable to contribute their ideas and more importantly, learn that their mistakes are valuable learning opportunities! Having a positive learning environment is key to the children making progress and reaching their potential, helping learners to develop their resilience and perseverance in the face of challenge is an extremely important part of teaching.

When asked what is the best thing about Dove Green, Miss Radburn replies:

We offer the children wonderful extra-curricular opportunities which allow them to express their creativity and explore their interests.

Fun Fact: Miss Radburn loves to draw and paint in her spare time and thoroughly enjoyed running an art ECA this year!
