All About Mrs. Matthew Cashmore
Mr Cashmore completed a three-year Bachelor of Teaching Degree at the University of Waikato in New Zealand. He has now been teaching for four years, two of which have been in New Zealand and then two in England. In his teaching career so far, he has taught in KS1 and KS2. Mr Cashmore has thoroughly enjoyed his first year at DGPS, both cover teaching and being a Year 5 teacher, and is looking forward to another year of growing and developing at Dove Green. Mr Cashmore ensures all students are experiencing a rich, personalised learning journey that puts their interests, aspirations and needs first. Within his classroom, he cultivates student agency and establishes an environment that enables students to construct their learning within meaningful and authentic contexts. Mr Cashmore also thinks using technology safely and effectively is a main part of being a 21 st century teacher. His classroom is a place where learning is clearly celebrated, andchildren are excited to learn.
When asked, what is the best thing about Dove Green? Mr Cashmore replies: ‘Feeling like a community of learners where the children's physical, mental and social wellbeing are at the centre of everything we do.’ Fun Fact: Mr Cashmore was in the New Zealand Army!
