All About Mrs. Gilbert

Mrs. Gilbert gained her degree in Education Studies at the University of Bedfordshire. After achieving Qualifying to Teach status (QTS) in the UK, she held several positions in UK schools which included a variety of leadership roles. Mrs. Gilbert then moved to Dubai in 2013, and has worked in two schools since her relocation.

Mrs. Gilbert has been employed at Dove Green Private school for 6 years. In that time, she has held positions of Class Teacher, English leader, Assistant Head, Head of Inclusion and Designated Safeguarding lead (DSL). She has been in the position of Vice Principal since 2021.

Mrs. Gilbert believes that teaching students successfully starts with knowing and understanding the needs of individual students. Establishing respectful and supportive relationships where everyone can thrive and succeed is of paramount importance to her. She believes that equity of opportunity and a sense of belonging strongly support students to become lifelong learners who can venture into the world with confidence.

Mrs. Gilbert’s specialist teaching interest is ‘Inclusion’. As a qualified Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) she has established a strong and effective team and developed support processes for students who require additional support.

When asked what is the best thing about Dove Green, Mrs. Gilbert replies:

The students. I have had a long career working with children and they never cease to amaze me.
