All About Miss. NKECHI OSAKWI
Miss Osakwe have joined Dove Green Private School from August 2023.
Having completed a 3-year Early Years degree at Essex University in 2014, Miss Osakwe has now been teaching for 6 years in lower and upper Key Stage 2. After finishing her degree, she wanted more experience in the classroom so applied for a TA role before starting her 1-year teacher training programme shortly after. Miss Osakwe’s passion for teaching and strong behaviour management was soon noticed by the leadership team and therefore, she was appointed KS2 Phase Leader in her second year of teaching. Additionally, she led English and successfully raised the standards and profile of reading and writing across the school. Miss Osakwe loves teaching all subjects, especially reading, and cannot wait to begin teaching at Dove Green in August 2023. Working in a diverse area has helped her with her own personal and professional development as a teacher and leader. She feels strongly about all children being represented throughout the curriculum and having their voices heard. She is passionate in promoting diversity, equality and inclusion throughout the curriculum.
Miss Osakwe ensures expectations are high for all children. She enjoys building relationships with her pupils and believes that is the key for children feeling motivated to learn, safe and valued. Her classroom is fun, supportive and the ‘growth mindset’ approach is embedded in her teaching. She is looking forward to being a class teacher and Head of Year 6.
When asked, what are you most looking forward to at Dove Green? Miss Osakwe replies:
‘Teaching children from all walks of life.’
Fun Fact: Miss Osakwe went on her solo-trip to Greece earlier this year and absolutely loved it!
