All About Miss. Payne
Miss. Payne is from a city called Worcester in England and she completed her degree in Primary Education at the University of Worcester. Her degree specialised in Early Years (ages 3-7), and in 2017 she became a Year 1 teacher, enjoying this role for 4 years. She loved supporting children as they moved from Reception to Key Stage 1 and as they moved onto Year 2. Miss. Payne has also taught in Year 2 and worked with home educated children in Worcester, which was very rewarding!
Miss. Payne is a very creative person and enjoys singing, dancing, and art in the classroom. She is particularly passionate about English, and loves reading stories and using imagination when reading and writing. She has also been a leader of History and Geography, and she loves using topics and themes to teach the curriculum. A favourite topic of hers is ‘Flight’ (think hot air balloon designing, the first flight invention, and using world maps!)
Miss. Payne ‘s classroom will feel happy and friendly and be bright and colourful. She believes that a happy classroom is a successful classroom, and likes to ensure everyone is caring and kind towards each other as we learn together. She encourages children in Key Stage 1 to be independent learners, creative thinkers and fact finders, and she is keen to challenge students to achieve their best.
When asked what is the best thing about Dove Green, Miss. Payne replies: knowing that, in the midst of this huge relocation from England to Dubai, I know I am joining a friendly and welcoming school that has a strong community and a fantastic team.
Fun Fact: I really love Orca’s (also known as ‘Killer Whales’!) and it is on my bucket list to go whale watching one day!
