All About Lorna Deakin
With over 20 years in education, Lorna Deakin is an experienced educator and has worked in a variety of schools.
In the UK, Lorna worked in multi-cultural and rural settings for 16 years beginning her career as a teacher of modern foreign languages. A move to Qatar in 2020 allowed her to broaden this experience and work in an international context. Lorna’s passion is to work in schools that truly serve the community.
She believes strongly that every child deserves the best education and opportunities to succeed no matter their starting point in life. Lorna is a visible leader who places strong emphasis on forging relationships with students, parents and colleagues and who places emphasis on a broad curriculum. With a degree in French and Theatre Studies Lorna believes that the arts have an important part to play in a child’s development. Lorna is a level 7 coach and considers herself a lifelong learner, currently undertaking an international coaching qualification. She is excited to bring her knowledge, skill set and experience to Dove Green Private School, cementing its status a happy and successful school.
