All About Mrs. Shaw
Mrs. Shaw has been a teacher for over 23 years. She qualified with a BEd Honours Degree from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland and achieved her Masters in Education Degree in 2009. She started her teaching career in England and has then worked internationally for many years. She gained her NQT status in the UK, and has then taught internationally in Kuwait, Oman, China and Northern Cyprus before settling in Dubai in 2010. She worked at GIS in Dubai for 8 years before pausing her career to have a family.
Mrs. Shaw has worked at DGPS for 4 years, 2 of these in a part time role and 2 years as a full-time class teacher.
During her teaching career, she has been an English Coordinator, worked in the inclusion department and was Year 6 Team Leader at BISS, Nord Anglia in Shanghai. She has also been involved with the Sports Departments in schools, coaching netball, and supporting football teams.Mrs. Shaw is a strong advocator of inclusion in schools and enjoys working with children of all abilities and backgrounds. She is passionate about developing the whole child, academically, emotionally, and socially.
Mrs. Shaw is particularly interested in well-being and her classroom is a positive and safe place which gives children a happy and stable environment to learn in.
When asked what is the best thing about Dove Green, Mrs. Shaw replies:
I love the positive spirit of the school. The children, staff and parents are one big family and I love being part of the Dove Green community.

“I came 7th out of almost 8000 women runners in the Dubai 10k in 2014 with a time of 45 minutes. A time I would love to beat today but I think my legs are now too old!”
